We honor what you've meant to the game...Just [a] fantastic human being. And so I love you very much and we honor you tonight in this last talk about a Coach's Corner."
"Yeah, he said many things, but I don't know, I mean, was it that bad? I don't know. ...I don't think that his words were racist."
Cherry was fired by Sportsnet on Monday.

"It has been decided it is the right time for him to immediately step down. During the broadcast, he made divisive remarks that do not represent our values or what we stand for."
Don Cherry launched into an anti-immigrant rant that literally included the phrase "You people!"
On Saturday, Cherry said "These people that are here now, front-running fans as far as I'm concerned." The Hurricanes responded by putting that on a t-shirt.
"I don't embrace nothing! I said they look like a bunch of jerks being fish in the water, a bowling ball, this is professional hockey and no sport in the world does it except them."
"Unless I missed it and someone died, there is no such thing as a 'tragic start' for LSU, or for any team." LSU forward Wayde Sims was fatally shot in September.
"If it was the 70s, everybody would be in jail. Everybody. Kids got beaten up, we got beaten up when we were kids like it was nothing. Nothing. No one even blinked an eye. ...I ain't getting in between nobody and their kids."
Barkley's claim that no woman could beat him at any sport topped the March 8-14 hot takes.
Sporting News columnist DeCourcy's argument that Zion Williamson would be unknown without playing for Duke topped the hot takes this week.
