2) Use Fox Sports Go to its true potential

Because of other products, supported and not supported by Fox, this is a bit of a pipe dream. But it would be pretty cool if Fox Sports Go was more than just an application to stream what’s currently on TV. When you look at the streaming landscape, NBC Sports Live Extra and ESPN3 are way ahead of Fox Sports Go when it comes to viewership options and availability.

How about alternate angles during soccer or football matches, like Fox experimented with during the Women’s World Cup? What about focusing on other groups and/or holes during the USGA events? Since MLB Postseason games can’t be streamed through MLB.tv like the regular season games can be, how about providing options for alternate audio feeds?

It really feels like Fox isn’t using Fox Sports Go as well as it should be, especially considering how ESPN uses ESPN3/WatchESPN and how NBC has turned Live Extra into a behemoth just by offering every Premier League match live with an authenticated login every week.

It would also be awesome if Fox allowed viewers to stream untelevised Champions League/Europa League/Bundesliga games on Fox Sports Go, but because Fox Soccer 2 Go still exists, that won’t be happening any time soon. It’s really quite the disparity every week when NBC allows most people to watch every EPL match for free through authentication while Fox is still charging for Fox Soccer 2 Go.

NBC really set the bar high for televised soccer in the US, and even though Fox has been doing it longer than NBC, the new model that NBC has created has helped make Fox’s strategy seem outdated and not viewer-friendly.
