Jay Gruden Underdog Fantasy Screengrab: Jay Gruden on X

Forget the sidelines; Jay Gruden’s next play is in the media.

The former Washington Commanders head coach most recently served as an offensive consultant for the Los Angeles Rams in 2022. Now, he’s becoming the latest former coach to take his talent to the other side of the football field and join the media. Though, he did have some run-ins with Robert Griffin III earlier this year.

Gruden announced on Thursday that he’s joining forces with his former quarterback, Colt McCoy, at Underdog Fantasy. In a social media post, Gruden revealed that McCoy persuaded him to trade the golf course for the analyst desk. The duo will be teaming up at Underdog to dissect the top quarterback and wide receiver prospects for the upcoming 2024 NFL Draft in April.

McCoy co-hosts Scheme alongside Underdog’s football content lead, Josh Norris. They recently even welcomed Trevor Lawrence, who broke down the key plays from his epic NFL playoff comeback against the Los Angeles Chargers.

Now, McCoy’s convinced Gruden to join the crew, bringing even more experience to their 2024 NFL Draft quarterback and wide receiver analysis. Though, it’s unclear if Gruden will remain with Underdog following the completion of the draft.

As for Underdog, the addition of Gruden adds to a growing portfolio of original content for the fantasy sports company. In addition to Section 10 and Baseball is Dead, Underdog also lays claim to Gilbert Arenas’ Gil’s Arena and The Underdog Football Show podcasts, as well as a growing collection of short-form original videos.
