Peacock Peacock faced criticism for streaming issues on Saturday morning.

As the world turns, another streaming service is asking for more of your money. Peacock customers may experience a change in their wallets soon. The NBC Universal streaming service will up its subscription price for both its ad and ad-free services.

NBC Universal is planning a two-dollar increase to subscription prices for customers this year. The plan is for it to be installed prior to the 2024 Summer Olympics in Paris, France.

“Peacock’s ad-supported option will increase by $2 to $7.99 a month, and its ad-free offering will rise by the same amount to $13.99 a month,” CNBC said.

According to CNBC, the changes will begin for new subscribers on July 18 and will be implemented for existing customers on August 17.

The surge in prices comes at a fascinating time for sports fans. Why? Everything is expensive. So, these two-dollar increases could mean a lot to existing or prospective customers. With the number of streaming services and the number of exclusives rising for those services, it becomes a quandary. How much are you willing to spend?

Ignoring the fact that those conversations don’t need to happen, Peacock users will have to weigh their options if necessary. There’s a lot on Peacock: Big Ten sports, the Barclays Premier League, the NFL, and maybe the NBA if NBC Universal gets its wish. And also, of course, the Olympics.

Customers, prospective or otherwise, will have some things to weigh over the next 2-3 months.
