Two weeks after Jon Hamm was on Baseball Tonight prior to Sunday Night Baseball, ESPN is once again adding a celebrity to their set. This week, before the Cardinals vs Reds game at Great American Ballpark, Charlie Sheen will be on the set on Baseball Tonight. Yes, *that* Charlie Sheen – are we suddenly back in 2011?

Sheen played Rick Vaughn in Major League, and is reportedly a huge Reds fan. He’s been kind of quiet since his 2011 meltdown and subsequent firing from CBS’s Two and a Half Men, but that’s not stopping ESPN from bringing him in to add… well, I don’t know what to the broadcast.

I actually wouldn’t object to having a rotating guest in the third spot on set alongside Karl Ravech and Barry Larkin (after John Kruk joins Dan Shulman in the booth), but I really don’t know what Sheen brings to the equation. The buzz surrounding him has all but faded. He’s not promoting something that he’s got on his agenda. Hell, I didn’t even know of him as a “famous Reds fan.” It just seems like an incredibly odd fit, especially now that #winning is no longer a thing.
