The CW Sports NASCAR

NASCAR will drive through The CW earlier than anticipated.

News broke Thursday that the network will air NASCAR races starting this year. The CW will reportedly air the final eight races of the 2024 NASCAR Xfinity Series.

Motorsport.com’s Jim Utter reported the news of the early start of the NASCAR-CW deal.

“The CW will begin its broadcast of NASCAR Xfinity Series a year earlier than planned,” Utter wrote. The decision will pull the races from NBC and the USA Network, who currently hold the rights for the Xfinity Series.

While no reason was provided to Motorsport.com, their report says that an official announcement Thursday will entail the reasoning behind the decision to get started ahead of time.

The network later announced the deal, saying that they will be NBC-produced events.

The CW is expanding its sports portfolio in a big way. After they acquired the rights to ACC sports, the network reached a deal with WWE to air NXT, the company’s developmental proving ground brand. The CW will also air NASCAR games, is the home to LIV Golf, and is the broadcast home of the popular Inside The NFL series.
