Kenny Smith took a tumble on the set of Inside the NBA Monday night.
Don’t worry, his ego is the only thing that might have been bruised. Oh, Smith and the rest of his TNT colleagues were laughing so hard afterward, their sides might have been hurting.
Smith, known for his smooth style during his NBA career, looked anything but smooth during halftime of the Los Angeles Lakers-Denver Nuggets game. He bounced out of his seat to trot to the video board, climbed one step and fell.
Smith got up laughing, and everyone else joined in.
“That’s going viral,” Shaquille O’Neal yelled.
“This is hilarious but I’m good though,” Smith assured everyone.

It’s not the first time someone has fallen on the Inside the NBA set. In fact, Smith sparked the biggest fall in 2022 when he launched Shaq into a Christmas tree on the set.
Even funnier than the fall itself, the aftermath kicked things into overdrive. The producer worked up a slow-motion replay, and everyone had some commentary.
“I saved myself! I saved myself!” Smith insisted.
“No you didn’t,” Barkley responded.

Of course by then, social media had jumped all over the incident, and the show shared some fun reactions.
One of the reasons for the award-winning show’s long-term popularity is fans never know what they’ll see, beyond the typically great analysis and brutally honest hot takes. A lot of the best moments of the show were pure comedy, whether it was the Shaq-Christmas tree incident, or Shaq breaking a Kelce brothers bobblehead recently.
But Smith’s fall became an instant classic in the show’s growing comedy archives. Fans were certainly amused.

Do NOT let NBC take this away from us. If TNT does fork up their NBA coverage, EJ, Shaq, Kenny and Charles better be the first four people NBC signs. This is the best studio sports show on television, period. https://t.co/H6OXtlkpGG
