Ever since Kevin James starred in the movie Grown Ups, peeing in the pool just isn’t the same for Dan Orlovsky.

Orlovsky joined The Dan Le Batard Show Tuesday morning and Stugotz asked the ESPN NFL analyst to share his thoughts on peeing in the pool. Breaking news, Dan Orlovsky is not a fan of peeing in the pool. Maybe because you shouldn’t pee where you bathe.

Actually, plenty of people pee in the shower. And shame on me for assuming Orlovsky, whose takes on hygiene have been rather liberal, would be one of those people. But considering he scrubs showers in favor of pool time over the summer, Orlovsky is extra mindful of the water’s pH level, which means no pee and no dogs.

“I’m not a huge fan of it to be honest with you,” Orlovsky said of peeing in the pool. But just because you’re not a fan of something, doesn’t mean you can’t reap its benefits on occasion. “Obviously, I’ve done it many times.”

But thanks to one of the more famous scenes from one of Adam Sandler’s worst movies, Orlovsky will only pee in the pool with the caveat of checking to make sure the water won’t tattle on him for peeing in the pool.

“Ever since the movie Grown Ups when Kevin James has the moment when he pees in the pool and the blue stuff gets out,” Orlovsky explained. “I always let a little bit out, just to see like, ‘Is that a real thing?’ And then if not, I’ll let it fly.”

So Orlovsky is not a fan of peeing in the pool, but he will do it, cautiously. That’s a great answer by the former NFL quarterback. If he just said, ‘Yeah, big fan of peeing in the pool,’ he’s encouraging guests to pee in his pool. But Orlovsky doesn’t want to let his pool become a pee-for-all, which is why he made sure to note he’s not a fan.

What is interesting, however, is the fact that Orlovsky seems more welcoming of your urine in his pool than your dog. And that’s just his own intuition, Orlovsky can’t blame his aversion to dogs in the pool on Kevin James.
