This week, it was announced by HBO that the Houston Texas would be featured on this season of Hard Knocks. One player who didn’t seem too happy about that? Texas defensive end JJ Watt, the reigning NFL Defensive Player of the Year.

He was on The Dan Patrick Show on Thursday, and when Patrick asked him about whether or not the players would have voted to be on the show, Watt didn’t exactly sound enthusiastic.

“I don’t think there’s many players that would have voted for it. I prefer to focus on the football”

Patrick then asked Watt if there was any pressure on him to be one of the stars of the show.

“I don’t think I’m really going to do anything different than I normally do. I’m going to go out there and play the game.”

Watt also said that no one has come to him asking about doing anything special for the show, and that if the situation came up, he’d take care of it then.

Well, he pretty clearly said what you’d want your star player to say – it’s all about the football, and he’s not going to go out of his way or change his routine because of the cameras.

I’m sure Texans fans are exhaling right now – after the season Watt had in 2014, changing anything that brought him that level of success would probably be cause for concern.
