It’s the 10th annual Jimmy V Week, with ESPN telling plenty of stories about former analyst Jim Valvano and the foundation in his name for cancer research, and analyst Mack Brown offered some particularly meaningful ones on ESPN2’s broadcast of the Mid-American Conference championship game between Western Michigan and Ohio Friday night. Following an ad for the Jimmy V Foundation, play-by-play commentator Adam Amin and Brown started discussing both Valvano and another former ESPN colleague, Western Michigan alum John Saunders:
Yep, it definitely just got dusty in here. It’s great to see Valvano and Saunders recognized this way, and Brown did an excellent job of honoring both.
