It’s been a whirlwind six months or so for San Diego Padres broadcaster Don Orsillo. He was unceremoniously dumped by NESN and the Boston Red Sox at the end of the 2015 season, and eventually landed with the Padres and Fox Sports San Diego as the successor to the legendary Dick Enberg.
Orsillo and Enberg are on alternating schedules, and Orsillo is currently calling the team’s games along with long-time Padres color commentator Mark Grant. The relationship between Orsillo and Grant has been nothing short of amazing so far.
During Monday’s game, Orsillo teased Grant about his tie clip to the point of nearly choking because he was laughing so hard.
I think this relationship is going to work just fine. Honesty, is the best policy! @Padres @FOXSportsSD @MLB pic.twitter.com/WpVSr3Kzr6

And then on Wednesday, the pair exchanged gifts in the booth.
The bromance continues…
The Padres have lost five in a row and have the second-worst record in the National League at 7-15, but at least the team’s announcers are having a good time amidst the carnage. Somewhere in Boston, a solitary tear runs down the cheek of Jerry Remy.
