Miko Grimes, the wife of Tampa Bay Buccaneers’ cornerback Brent Grimes, created a wide variety of controversies while her husband was with the Miami Dolphins, including the September arrest that produced the above mugshot, and she appears to be continuing her rants against the Dolphins several months after they released him. Now, she’s bringing diatribes against Jews into the equation, and fighting with reporters like Jay Glazer along the way. This latest outburst started Sunday night on her Twitter account (explicit language warning), when she made further criticisms of frequent target Miami QB Ryan Tannehill, references to how she “got [Grimes] out of his contract” to a place with a “real QB” in Jameis Winston,  and comments that fans can’t tell her husband what to do because they don’t orally pleasure him after a loss. After that, she made a comment that Dolphins’ owner Stephen Ross only hired executive VP of football operations Mike Tannenbaum because both are Jewish:

Grimes took plenty of criticism for that comment from a wide variety of Twitter users, but stood by it and insisted that she wasn’t racist, everyone else was (including attempts to link this to police violence, and somehow to Terrell Owens’ Hall of Fame case). Things really escalated when Glazer (who is also Jewish) called her out, though:

Grimes responded in polite and diplomatic fashion:

This is just the latest controversy to follow Grimes; she was arrested last September at a Dolphins’ game for disorderly conduct, resisting with violence and battery on a law-enforcement officer, and was fired from her job as a WQAM radio host (she also was a sports radio host in Atlanta before meeting Grimes) the following week. She also went on obscene Twitter rants against the Miami media and Tannehill in December, and threatened Miami Herald columnist Armando Salguero with “bullets” and a gun emoji after he wrote in March that her behavior hurt Grimes’ trade value and led to them cutting him. Bleacher Report’s Jason Cole later added that three NFL GMs said they wouldn’t sign Grimes thanks to Miko’s antics. The “Jew buddies” comment and her defense of it is perhaps beyond even what we’ve previously seen from her, though, targeting an entire group of people rather than just a few specific media types. It also may not go over well with the Jewish Glazer family (no relation to Jay) that just happens to own the Buccaneers…
