The richest game in world soccer took place today with the Championship Playoff Final between Derby County and Queens Park Rangers.  The winner of the game didn’t win a trophy necessarily, but something much more valuable – the 20th spot in next year’s English Premier League season.

With the score tied 0-0 in the 90th minute, QPR’s Bobby Zamora struck the match winner after a poor clearance.  QPR had been playing much of the second half a man down thanks to a red card with Derby County dominating the majority of play.  Perhaps that’s why the BBC London radio call was so apoplectic and amazing.
