The harassment of dugout reporters has reached a new level. After the Tigers beat the Athletics 7-6 on a dramatic walkoff homer by Torii Hunter, Justin Kelly was all set to interview Hunter on the field at Comerica Park. Hunter answered White's first question before Prince Fielder ran out of the dugout and dumped a jar of gumballs all over Hunter. No big deal, they're just unchewed gumballs.
Then, backup catcher Brayan Pena gets involved, lugging the jug of water. Hunter ducks out of the way, and instead of even deciding to pursue him for a second, Pena absolutely drenches White. Thankfully, it wasn't a brightly colored Gatorade flavor, because could you imagine if White's cream colored jacket was covered with blue, red, or orange Gatorade? Yikes.
But White took the drenching in stride, commenting that it felt good and continuing his interview with Hunter. I'm waiting for the day where one of these reporters just loses their mind, because it will be fantastic.
