As Twitter continues to sign streaming deals, it has signed an agreement with Sky Sports for English Premier League highlights. This will allow Twitter users in the UK and Ireland to watch real-time highlights on the @SkyFootball account.

In addition, the agreement allows for post-match analysis. So now, fans who have received the scorn from the Premier League for posting videos of their own, can watch highlights legally on Twitter this season.

So with Twitter signing deals left and right in both the US and the UK, the streaming service has several big feathers in its cap including live games from MLB, NFL and NHL, several college conferences including Mountain West, Pac-12, Patriot League and West Coast Conference.

The Premier League highlights will be available through Twitter Amplify which brings broadcasters and advertisers together to provide content to users.

David Gibbs the digital director of Sky Sports and News issued this statement:

“We’re delighted to be working with Twitter to bring in-game clips to football fans across the UK & Ireland as part of our biggest ever season of football. With more than 30 million users across a variety of platforms, Sky Sports is already the number one digital destination for sports in the UK. By expanding our partnership with Twitter, we can bring even more great action to an even bigger audience.”

So with the new deals in place, Twitter is hoping it will be a destination for fans who want to find streaming video and now they won’t have to leave the service if they want to tweet on what they see.
