The NFL’s handling of Josh Brown’s domestic violence arrest has been, to put it kindly, shambolic. On Wednesday night’s edition of Garbage Time, Katie Nolan took the NFL to task for how they handled Brown, while also making the case that a zero tolerance policy isn’t the best idea.

Nolan’s push for more actual counseling and treatment as opposed to a zero tolerance policy isn’t exactly a new and novel idea, but zero tolerance hasn’t exactly worked to wipe out domestic violence incidents across the NFL.

Maybe the league should give the “rehabilitation for domestic violence offenders” strategy a whirl instead of their usual strategy of “faux investigation > small suspension > more details revealed to public > Commissioner’s Exempt List > player released > league feels great about themselves”.
