The Northwestern football program made its way back into the collective consciousness of college football fans in 2012 after completing a ten win season and winning the Gator Bowl, just the second bowl win in school history. Northwestern has been one of the more savvy schools in the Big Ten when it comes to social media, including putting together a site that wraps up all of the program's social media efforts into one slick looking site.
The Wildcat football program is also pretty active on Youtube, and they uploaded this video featuring mascot Willie the Wildcat in a This is SportsCenter style commercial, with Willie serving as assistant to coach Pat Fitzgerald and…well, failing miserably while acting like a cat. I'm not sure if it compares all that well to the commercials ESPN put out featuring Michigan State mascot Sparty, but it's a start.
