Only Mike Francesa can casually mention that he almost became an NFL coach in the 90s.

This one is pretty crazy to consider. Mike Francesa just casually threw out on his program today that he was offered some kind of NFL job once upon a time. However, the pope turned it down because he would have to take a pay cut. Only Mike Francesa could casually dismiss a job opportunity in the NFL because it couldn’t match his sports talk radio salary.

Now this just begs the question – which NFL team actually would offer Mike Francesa a job? What exactly would he do? Radio guy? Offensive coordinator? Head coach? Could that have actually have happened or did Francesa also take RPG fire over Iraq when this call came?

It’s not too late to make this dream become a reality. New York Jets Head Coach Mike Francesa has a great ring to it.
