Colin Cowherd on Joe Burrow

Stop me if you’ve heard this before: a prominent media personality has started a podcast network.

On Sunday, Colin Cowherd announced the launch of The Volume, a podcast network anchored by (what else?) a thrice-weekly show hosted by Cowherd himself.

In addition to Cowherd’s new show (with the incredibly original title of The Colin Cowherd Podcast), The Volume’s launch lineup includes the following shows.

  • Jenkins and Jonez, a twice-weekly NBA-centric show hosted by Twitter personalities LaJethro Jenkins and Dragonfly Jonez.
  • Catchin’ Fades, a weekly NFL show hosted by former cornerback Aqib Talib.
  • Oral Sessions, hosted by former WWE personality Renee Paquette.
  • Moneyline Monaco, your obligatory gambling podcast, hosted by Alex Monaco.

Cowherd told Bloomberg that listeners would get “the rawest, most authentic version” of him on the new podcast.

The cynic in me thinks we’re one step closer to content overload, but the realist knows that Cowherd fans aren’t going to turn down more content. I’m curious to see if a Cowherd-hosted podcast brings out longer, more interesting interviews, or if it ends up being a slimmed down version of his radio show – just more raw and authentic.
