It shouldn’t even count as dropping an f-bomb on live TV if you’re as remorseful as Luka Dončić was after he accidentally dropped an f-bomb on live TV.
All the hype expectedly surrounded Victor Wembanyama’s NBA debut for the San Antonio Spurs Wedesday night against the Dallas Mavericks. But the Mavericks have an impressive rookie of their own in Dereck Lively II. After Dallas beat the Spurs 126-119 behind a triple-double from Dončić, ESPN’s Cassidy Hubbarth asked the Mavericks’ superstar about Lively’s NBA debut.

“He didn’t seem a bit nervous, he played f***ing amazing,” Dončić said before he quickly recoiled after immediately recognizing the blunder. “Sorry, sorry.”
In his defense, Lively did play f***ing amazing with 16 points and ten rebounds off the bench, while Wembanyama was limited to just 23 minutes because of foul trouble. Lively did, however, have the benefit of entering the game with much less pressure than Wembanyama.
While Dončić chalked up his accidental f-bomb to being tired, Hubbarth was kind enough to excuse it as first game of the season rust. Dončić was asked about the f-bomb slip on ESPN during his postgame press conference and he hilariously downplayed it.
Luka Dončić talked about cussing on national television describing Dereck Lively II as “f*cking amazing”…
“I didn’t say that (said smiling). Look, in Slovenia that’s not cussing really, we say these words for good morning.” 😂 pic.twitter.com/ZmPaLCAA80

“I didn’t say that,” Dončić said with a smirk. “Look, in Slovenia that’s not cussing really, we say these words for good morning.”
That’s good to know. Awful Announcing’s readers from Slovenia are probably very confused by our detailed coverage of Pat McAfee’s f-bombs on ESPN the last few months.
