Despite tearing his ACL in Game 6 of the NBA Finals, Klay Thompson re-signed with the Golden State Warriors, earning himself a five-year, $190 million max deal. To celebrate, Thompson decided to release a new shoe (of course) with a unique design.

Before games, Thompson enjoys reading an old school, hard copy newspaper. Anta Sports, Thompson’s shoe company, worked with the East Bay Times to create a special edition, newspaper-inspired shoe. According to ESPN’s Nick DePaula, the Anta KT4s will have a newsprint-style design, featuring clippings about Thompson. They’ll be available this Sunday, July 7th, and the downtown Oakland location of Oaklandish.

The design of these shoes is unique and will take a hot second to get used to, but there’s a great back story behind them. Whether or not they actually look good is up for debate, but there’s no denying that this is a personal design for Thompson.
