Joe Buck told a hilarious story about former MLB pitcher/current political talk radio host Curt Schilling in his soon to be released autobiography, and the opinionated former video game developer wasn’t too happy about it.
In the Fox broadcaster’s upcoming memoir, Buck recalls a story about the network convincing then Diamondbacks manager Bob Brenly to wear a mic in the dugout so the broadcast could pick up on-field sounds. According to Buck, when Schilling was pitching in Game 4 and was about to get pulled, he put on “great theater” to pretend like he didn’t want to be pulled, when in fact, it was the opposite.
Here is what we didn’t know. Earlier in that inning, Schilling had told his catcher, Damian Miller, that he was running out of gas: ‘Whatever happens, this is my last inning. Don’t let him put me back out there again.’ Naturally, Miller told Brenly.
Buck claims Schilling saw Brenly’s mic and used the opportunity to look good on national TV.
But Schilling could see the microphone on Brenly’s uniform. He knew he would look better if he begged to keep pitching on national television. So he asked Brenly to keep him the game…They both knew he was coming out.”
Naturally, upon hearing the story, Schilling called Buck “a liar, 100% through and through”.
And I'll tell you right now, Joe Buck is a liar, 100% through and through. Damian Miller, Bob Brenly would say so as well

Schilling’s ego is massive, so Buck’s story could be bang on. This isn’t as juicy as potentially faking a bloody sock, but given Schilling’s history, there’s a distinct possibility Buck’s telling the truth. Let’s hope Buck responds.
