Jason Benetti

With the White Sox in Boston for a Sox Series, Jason Benetti made a quick visit to the WEEI booth. But Benetti, who does work for ESPN in addition to his White Sox play-by-play duties, didn’t come as himself.

Rather, he came as Sean McDonough, who worked as a Red Sox broadcaster before his time at ESPN and joined Boston’s dizzying array of radio broadcasters this season.

Some voice impressions can be hit or miss, but it’s hard to imagine anyone copying McDonough better than that. The utility of being able to do a pitch-perfect Sean McDonough impression is certainly up for debate, but there’s no doubting the quality of it.
