The latest
The documentary looks at the case and the battle between Hogan and Gawker. At the end of the trial, it was discovered that Hogan’s legal fees were paid by billionaire Peter Thiel.
Knappenberger convinced former Gawker CEO Nick Denton and former editor-in-chief A.J. Daulerio to go on camera and talk about the trial as long as they didn’t say something that would jeopardize the settlement with Hogan. Knappenberger’s attempts to get Hogan and Thiel to discuss their side of the story were unsuccessful. But he said even if Thiel decides to participate at this late juncture, Knappenberger would add him to the film
The documentary will debut at Sundance tonight, however, it was shown to potential buyers before the film festival and it resulted in Netflix purchasing the movie.
There’s no word as to when the documentary will premiere on Netflix.
