During Friday’s NFL Live on ESPN, viewers might have found themselves drawn to the box in the upper-right corner where NFL reporter Field Yates’s screen shook suddenly and the look on his face seem to imply that his soul had departed his body and floated in front of him before ascending to the heavens.
It certainly wasn’t as dramatic as that, but it turns out there is a logical explanation for what occurred: Dog vomit.
Because this involved an NFL Insider, Yates’s fellow ESPN NFL Insider broke the news.
Breaking: @FieldYates’ golden retriever, Cisco, puked three feet from his father as Yates was mid answer on ESPN’s NFL Live, Yates confirmed. It is why Yates’ live shot suddenly shook. “Still a very good boy,” Yates texted. pic.twitter.com/XqBnHPkM1P

Yates corroborated the report with a follow-up tweet that also showcased his ability to have a laugh at his own expense.

Credit to host Laura Rutledge for noticing something was askance with Yates at that moment, even though there wasn’t much to be done about it. At least not until the cameras were off and the clean-up began.
This is Cisco. He’s taken four naps on his first day home. He also likes to chew things. My wife says he’s the man of the house already. 14/10 I do agree. pic.twitter.com/DovBTlNOQr

As for Cisco, no word yet on any disciplinary actions from ESPN or Yates.
