Bally Sports Bally Sports RSN Map

The Bally Sports app was down for seemingly everybody on a Wednesday night that featured NBA and NHL games being shown — or, that were supposed to be shown — on the regional sports network.

We tried it out on the Bally Sports Roku app for the Los Angeles Clippers’ broadcast for their game vs. the Minnesota Timberwolves, and were met with constantly slow loading that ultimately resulted in various error messages over the course of 30 minutes (it did make us have to watch video advertisements on multiple tries, at least!). Finally, the app began working… just in time for the postgame show.

And we tried that out after seeing a significant amount of social media users reporting that the app was down. Overall, it seems that the app crashed for roughly an hour, and in crucial points of some of the games.

This app (and RSN as a whole) has received plenty of criticism even when it’s actually working.

Here’s a sampling of how Twitter users reacted to the Bally Sports app being down:

Bally Sports released the following statement to Awful Announcing:

“Our streaming provider experienced a technical issue this evening which affected Bally Sports. The issue has been resolved and all streams are now fully functioning. We apologize to our viewers for the disruption.”
