Bob Costas isn’t usually one to stir up a storm on social media, unless he’s dealing with a severe case of Russian pink eye.
However, it was Costas’ outfit that got everyone talking during last night’s Thursday Night Football telecast on NBC and NFL Network. Apparently, Costas was taking the color rush concept very seriously as he donned an all black outfit, complete with black fedora.
Of course, Twitter had a lot of fun with Costas’ wardrobe choice and the memes were out in full force. I think if I had to rank my favorite cultural references below it’d be 1) Bob Costas as the Silver Shroud (which any Fallout 4 fan can appreciate), 2) Bob Costas as the fourth member of Run DMC, 3) Bob Costas moonlighting as a real life version of James Spader from The Blacklist.

Last night’s game wasn’t the first time Costas has gone with the fedora, so maybe he’s trying to turn it into a signature look… or he’s just trying to copy the fashion sense of Jason Whitlock.
