Dick Enberg is a broadcasting legend, and his work as San Diego Padres play by play commentator has largely been great, and refreshing in a world where tired cliches and silly gimmicks have become the norm.
But on Monday night in Colorado, Enberg terribly botched this call on a Chase Headley triple, thinking it was a home run.

Yeah that’s…well, that’s not good at all, Dick. I’ll give Enberg the benefit of the doubt and assume that he lost the ball in the light blue advertisement on the right field wall, but that doesn’t exactly make it too much better.
