Welcome to the last week before the Mid-Summer Classic, the MLB All-Star game. You know, the one that counts this time? You might suspect that MLB and their television partners would be keen to showcase some of the game’s younger talents in the buildup to the All-Star game. Or, at least it might be wise to show some of the surprise teams of the first half of the season to a national audience. But, instead, you might as well call this week in baseball “Yankees Week”. The “Evil Empire” makes 7, count them, 7 appearances on national TV this week thanks to series against division rivals Tampa Bay and Boston, including a Saturday doubleheader at Fenway. Oh well, at least Chris Berman isn’t broadcasting any games for ESPN… D’OH!
