ESPN Films released the trailer for their next installment in its 30 for 30 series on Thursday night, during the premiere of “The Two Bills” (which we reviewed here).
The new 30 for 30 is about Bob Knight and the controversial end of his tenure at Indiana, titled The Last Days of Knight. ESPN hasn’t given a specific release date for The Last Days of Knight, but says it will premiere in the spring, so likely around March Madness. It’s directed by Robert Abbott (who produced the “Catholics vs. Convicts” 30 for 30).
Knight led the Indiana Hoosiers to three national championships (1976, 1981, 1987), but his tenure at Indiana is known even more these days for his antics and abusive disciplinary ways. It appears the documentary will largely focus on the choking incident with Neil Reed that led to Knight’s dismissal from the university.
Here’s the trailer for The Last Days of Knight:

It appears the post-Selection Sunday 30 for 30 this year is on Bob Knight. I couldn't possibly think any less of him, so sure, I'll watch.

This year's college basketball 30 for 30 will be about Bob Knight, per the trailer they just showed on ESPN.
Gonna skip that one.

So @30for30 is doing Bob Knight's downfall at Indiana next? A) I'm in, and B) Wonder if they would have done it if he still worked at ESPN.

I'm sure this Bob Knight 30 for 30 will be interesting, especially for non-IU fans. Personally, I feel differently now than I felt then about his firing, and I've made my peace with the whole thing. I just want to move on … but I understand the broader appeal.

As good as tonight’s 30 for 30 has been, the preview for the upcoming one on Bob Knight looks amazing.
