Oh yes, the AL Central – home of Hawk Harrelson for another season and a half. Hawk’s crew finished last in each of the previous rankings we’ve done, and will look to make it three in a row this season. On the other side of the coin, the White Sox home crew got a lot of love in their first year of eligibility, while the other four teams hovered around the middle of the rankings.

Polls will close promptly at 11 AM on June 16th.

  • Corey

Indians fan here. Rating our guys as a D, only because they pale in comparison to our radio guys, who are the best in the business.

    • Blaise O’Connor

Dead on, Corey. Tom Hamilton alone, is always a great listen.

  • Dale Moog

I am the one person outside of the Chicago land area that like Hawk Harrleson I am also the the person who thinks Dick Breamer with the Twins is the worst pxp in the MLB even behind Buck Martinez in Toronto and that tells you how much I hate Breamer.

    • Karl

Bremer’s voice is the official anthem of afternoon naps in Twins Territory, it would be a true public safety hazard on roads if he did radio.

    • SquatchyPants

Hey come on! No one, and I mean NO ONE, gets more excited about a routine fly ball of the bat of a Twins player.

  • Karl

It’s been nice having the Twins have some new voices rotating into color- Blyleven is fine (not great but not bad) and the pitching nuances like the grips he’s been working in are a welcome change. Morris especially, along with Smalley and Hawkins have been stellar in their opportunities, Hunter still has work to do and it always seems like he thinks he should be playing/managing instead of the guys out there. Dick Bremer is a very nice guy but after 25+ years it would be great to have FSN North work in a different play by play guy every now and then. I get Dick and Bert are the main guys but in such a long season more of a variety of voices would go a very long way.

The number one issue with Twins/FSN North coverage is still that there are always ~8 games per season with no television coverage.

To me, the biggest problem with Blyleven is that he does very little actual analysis. He just reads numbers and transactions from the media guide. He has so much experience, and presumably knowledge, it’s a shame he doesn’t really use it. Second, he checks out waayyyy too often and seems uninterested.
