You probably forgot about the Baseball Hall of Fame induction ceremony this year. It’s understandable – NBA free agency captured much of our attention this month. We’re fretting about the Olympics in a couple of weeks. Football is coming.

But the induction of Ken Griffey Jr and Mike Piazza takes place this Sunday, and as it has for the last few years, MLB Network will go live at noon with MLB Tonight before airing the ceremony when it begins at 1:30 PM. The broadcast will start with this incredible video narrated by J.K. Simmons, which features highlights of Griffey and Piazza along with the incredible creation of each of their plaques that will hang in Cooperstown.

I won’t lie – this introduction made me want to go to Cooperstown as soon as possible, even if it’s just a damn museum. It’s been 14 years since my last visit, and that’s far too long.

Also, I really want to see a feature on how the plaques are created each year. It seems like a thorough, intense process, and something I never really thought about until now.
