Villanova senior guard Ryan Arcidiacono was named the Final Four’s Most Outstanding Player. He also received another rather unique honor – Jim Nantz’s tie from the National Championship Game.
Nantz spoke with Daniel Gotera from KHOU in Houston about this personal tradition of him giving his tie to a senior from the team that wins the national championship as a show of appreciation for what they’ve done on and off the floor in their college careers. Perhaps you could say it’s a tradition unlike any other. Too easy, I know…

Arcidiacono was actually seen with the tie after the game:

That’s actually a pretty cool gesture from Nantz… as long as it doesn’t get Villanova any NCAA violations for Arcidiacono accepting gifts, of course. Maybe next year a senior will wise up and ask Nantz for more than just a tie, they’ll ask for a piece of burnt toast too.
