Deadpool is everywhere. Since debuting a trailer during NBA telecasts on Christmas, the marketing from 20th Century Fox for its movie featuring Marvel’s wise-cracking superhero assassin (that might be an oxymoron) has been pervasive and brilliant, leading up to the film’s Feb. 12 release.

With one more week before Deadpool hits theaters, the infamous “Merc with a Mouth” is extending his outreach, appearing in an ad with Manchester United and perhaps revealing some latent feelings toward Wayne Rooney.

This isn’t a one-off effort for Manchester United. As the Daily Mail explains, the club and 20th Century Fox have formed a new partnership under which Fox movies will be promoted on digital boards at Old Trafford and backdrops during post-match interviews.

Manchester United also tweeted out this image of Deadpool with Rooney on Thursday, a photo worth saving for those who love soccer and superheroes.

“Both Manchester United and 20th Century Fox are leaders within our respective industries,” United group managing director Richard Arnold said in an official statement, “and we are delighted to be able to work with them in introducing each other to new audiences, creating unique content, such as the players’ recent encounter with Deadpool.”

In addition to Deadpool, other Fox blockbusters to be promoted during the upcoming year will include X-Men: Apocalypse and Independence Day: Resurgence.

Deadpool hits U.S. theaters on Feb. 12, but will actually get a slightly earlier release in the U.K. on Feb. 10.
