Fox has a history of bizarre, over-the-top, loony sports commercials. While this isn’t necessarily Gus Johnson and Bill Raftery calling a baby’s delivery… it might be on the next level down.
In this NFL on Fox ad, Joe Buck and Troy Aikman star in a latin soap opera imagining a world with no football.
The fantastic element of this commercial is how Joe Buck throws himself into the role. You can tell he’s really enjoying this. Just look at that smile! It’s like he was born to play satirical typecasting roles. On the other hand, Aikman looks like someone who is thinking to himself, “I’m a Hall of Fame quarterback and I have to wear this!?”
One of these days Joe Buck is going to pull a Garth Brooks-Chris Gaines and do one season completely in-character.
