NBC unveils the first 130 Games of its inaugural English Premier League Schedule

When NBC said it was all in for the English Premier League, it was not kidding. For its inaugural season, NBC will provide access to all of the games either on TV, computers, mobiles or tablets. The NBC Sports Group has unveiled its schedule for the first three months of the 2013-14 season totaling 130 matches, spanning five NBCUniversal TV networks, providing extra channels on various cable and satellite providers and utilizing its existing mobile and tablet app. 

Let's break it all down for you.

TELEVISION

NBC Sports Group will place 69 games on television. NBC Sports Network will get the bulk of the matches with 57. NBC will air ten games with CNBC taking 2. NBCUniversal's Spanish language networks, Telemundo and mun2 will air a total of 27 matches, many being simulcasts of NBCSN or NBC games.

NBC Sports Group's first English Premier League game will air on Saturday, August 17 as Liverpool takes on Stoke City at 7:45 a.m. ET. Then NBC gets into the act just under four hours later wtih returning champions Manchester United hosting Swansea City.

NBC Sports Network will air one of the EPL's most heated rivalries, Manchester United vs. Chelsea on August 26 at 3 p.m. ET.

Premier League Live will air 30 minutes before and for 30 minutes after each game on NBCSN, NBC and CNBC. It will be hosted by Rebecca Lowe who comes to the NBC Sports Group from across the Atlantic. She had been a host on ESPN UK.

Arlo White will be the main play-by-play voice for the English Premier League.

PREMIER LEAGUE EXTRA TIME

This will be the equivalent of Fox Soccer Plus, but with more games being shown on extra spillover channels each week. However, unlike Fox Soccer Plus which cost extra for cable and satellite subscribers, participating providers including AT&T U-Verse, Cablevision, Comcast, DirecTV, Dish, Suddenlink and various smaller cable companies through the National Cable Television Cooperative will offer 61 English Premier League games at no extra cost to you. So you won't have to pay and those matches that were offered either through Fox Soccer Plus or FoxSoccer2Go will now be part of your cable subscription. 

NBC SPORTS LIVE EXTRA APP

All 130 English Premier League games will be offered online or through mobiles and tablets thanks to what is known as "TV Everywhere." This is the effort by the TV industry to make programs available through multiple platforms. For the EPL, NBC will utilize its NBC Sports Live Extra App available on both iOS and Android platforms. Games from NBC will be available for everyone. However, the rest of the 120 games from NBCSN, CNBC or the Premier League Extra Time will have to be authenticated through participating cable and satellite providers. And thus far, AT&T U-Verse, Cablevision, Comcast, DirecTV, Dish, Suddenlink, Verizon FiOS and a number of smaller cable providers will allow their subscribers access to the EPL online. 

So in the first three months, all of the EPL games will be made available in some fashion through an NBC platform. For soccer fans, it's a huge smorgasbord that may cause sensory overload. For fans who were used to getting two or three live games a week through Fox Soccer, this will be a huge increase in the access to the most popular soccer league in the world. 

If NBC finds loyalty from viewers paid back through increased numbers on both TV and online, the investment to wrest the EPL away from Fox and ESPN will have been worth it.
