Dan Le Batard launches ESPN Radio show Monday

ESPN Radio is in the process of making over their daily lineup and Dan Le Batard is the final piece to the puzzle.  It was reported earlier this year that Le Batard and fellow Miami radio host Jorge Sedano would be going national with ESPN Radio.  Sedano has replaced Mike Hill in the evening with Mark Schlereth and now Le Batard replaces Jonathan Coachman in the late afternoon slot.  The Miami radio host/columnist and Highly Questionable host will  take over the 4 PM – 7 PM ET after SVP & Russillo.  He'll also host an hour locally in Miami from 3-4 before his ESPN Radio gig.

Here's what the full ESPN Radio weekday lineup looks like at the moment…

6-10 AM – Mike & Mike
10 AM-1 PM – The Herd
1-4 PM – The Scott Van Pelt Show
4-7 PM – The Dan Le Batard Show
7-10 PM – Sedano & Stink
10 PM-1 AM – The Freddie Coleman Show

Somehow Dan Le Batard is going to find a way to host his ESPN Radio show AND Highly Questionable on ESPN2 with both airing at 4 PM.  Out of all the billions of people around the globe who were possible nominees, who would have thought Dan Le Batard would be the first to get cloned?  The world obviously needs more hilarious Twitter trolling.

As much as ESPN likes to maintain that no one person is bigger than the brand, it's clear the network is being driven by a personality-based modus operandi.  ESPN's lineup is all about individuals who can contribute cross-platform and build a personal brand, positively or negatively.  It's why Colin Cowherd has another TV show in addition to his radio work.  Why they've hired Keith Olbermann and Jason Whitlock.  Why Scott Van Pelt appears on SportsCenter, radio, GameDay and live events.  And now, why Dan Le Batard has landed both national TV and radio jobs in the past couple years.  He's someone ESPN now feels like they can build around.

He can probably thank Papi for that.
