Here at Awful Announcing, we love local news weather forecast videos. And when they go wrong as was the case with WCIV-TV (ABC4) in Charleston, WV, it’s great fodder. ABC4 Chief Meterologist Dave Williams was ready to give his forecast this week when the weather computer froze and all we saw was one map.
Being a pro, Dave had to fill an almost-four minute segment without any graphics and he did it without missing a beat, but his friends at the anchor desk, Dean Stephens and Victoria Hansen drew pictures including the 5-day forecast to help out.
It was tremendous.
It was a great show of teamwork by ABC4 News as the anchors did their best to help out a weather forecaster in need.
