ESPN radio affiliate ESPN Central Texas (KRZI; 1660 AM/92.3 FM) in Waco, TX was vandalized on Thursday night, with the damage knocking the station off the air overnight. They got back on the air Friday morning. Information on the vandalism and the station’s recovery comes from program director David Smoak:
*Programming Alert:* Our radio station was vandalized tonight w/description of white male in a white BMW w/Longhorns logo on the back. 🤷‍♂️ We just had Derrick Johnson on today, but I digress. Numerous wires/cables have been cut and we are off the air indefinitely.

This had zero to do with anything UT, that logo is a specific description on the back of the car and one that could help in the end. But, yes, this is beyond annoying for all of us at @1660ESPN.

This annoys me so much. Smoaky and his team are great people who do it the right way and are freaking talented. Hope they catch the jerk who did this. Sad world we live in at times. https://t.co/a4bEmcanjD
