Thanks to YouTube, we’ve become a country obsessed with cats. And Hallmark Channel which tapped into that obsession with the Kitten Bowl just before the Big Game, is doing it again with its first-ever “Paw Star Game” this Sunday at 5 p.m. ET.
New York Yankees radio voice John Sterling will be on hand to “call” the action with Mary Carillo acting as host. Beth Stern will also be seen. We’ll see cute kittens run all over a specially constructed baseball diamond playing with various cat toys.
It’ll be cute television. Just look at the names of the kittens, Derek Cheetah! Clayton Kerclaw! Mike Troutbreath! And Button!!
Paw Star Game director Matt Kaunitz tells us about the field and the stars of the telecast, the kittens!
As Matt said, the Paw Star Game is being held to promote animal adoption and Hallmark Channel is once again partnering with the North Shore Animal League and Last Hope Animal Adoption and Rehabilitation.
You want one cute kitten video? Of course you do. Here’s Carillo and Sterling discussing a great moment in Paw Star Game history from 1988 when Kirk Kitson capped off a great win (I can’t believe I’m writing this).
As we enter All-Star Game Weekend, why not kick it off with some kittens?
