Susan Mullane-USA TODAY Sports

Dan Shulman is one of the best announcers ESPN has and is maybe one of the best in all of sports television.  But even the best can have a momentary slip of the mind and/or tongue that can be quite amusing.

As Shulman was welcoming viewers to Sunday Night Baseball after the US Open tennis final between Stan Wawrinka and Novak Djokovic, he had a little bit of trouble with Djokovic’s name.

Let’s be honest – who hasn’t at some point called him “Djovak Nokovic”?  Even though he is one of the greatest tennis players of all-time, it’s a name that isn’t the easiest in the world for American announcers to deal with.

Djokovic surprisingly lost the final to Wawrinka, who won his third grand slam trophy… perhaps he can blame it on his alter ego, Nokovic.
