Coming this summer, golf fans who had only been able to watch three to hours of weekday afternoon PGA Tour on Golf Channel, will soon be able to access morning coverage on their computers, mobiles and tablets. PGA Tour Live is being developed in cooperation with MLB Advanced Media, the home of several online streaming ventures including 120 Sports, HBO Now, WatchESPN and WWE Network.

The PGA online service will launch this summer and as Sports Business Daily reports, will provide live streaming coverage of two marquee groups. So fans will able to access action that won’t be part of the afternoon Golf Channel coverage which usually begins at 3 p.m. ET.

This will come at a cost as PGA Tour Live will be a subscription-based service. It will be available on mobiles, tablets and computers. While the price has yet been determined, there will be some content that will be free to all.

Golf fans had complained about not being able to see a Rory McIlroy, Phil Mickelson or Tiger Woods if their rounds were scheduled in the morning, but now with PGA Tour Live, they’ll be able to access what had been previously unavailable.

The PGA Tour and MLB Advanced Media have signed a multiyear contract for the distribution of PGA Tour Live. PGA Tour commissioner Tim Finchem said he felt the time was right to launch this venture and hopes it will be as popular as other over the top services such as MLB.TV, NBA League Pass and the WWE Network.
