During WWE’s Royal Rumble event on Saturday, announcers Pat McAfee and especially Wade Barrett had some comments about how the NFL’s officials call games involving the Kansas City Chiefs.

The second match on the card pitted The Motor City Machine Guns challenging #DIY for the WWE Tag Team Championships. As is often the case in WWE matches, there were some issues with how the referee was calling things.

After one such incident, McAfee said, “Stuff like that can’t happen with the official.” That was the cue fellow color analyst Wade Barrett needed.

“Well I’ve not seen officiating this bad since the last Kansas City Chiefs game,” Barrett said.

“I love the greatness of the Chiefs,” McAfee replied. “But even some of those calls, I go, ‘What’s going on?'”

The way the Chiefs are officiated has been a hot topic of conversation throughout the postseason. We have to assume that Barrett and McAfee’s comments will earn them the scorn of Nick Wright — as well as the QuikTrip Convenience store.

Will Barrett and McAfee get even more ammunition after the Super Bowl? Time will tell.
