When you look back at the year 2025 in WWE, Travis Scott has undeniably played a major role.
After all, he was curiously a part of the angle at WWE Elimination Chamber, in which John Cena shockingly turned heel. And he was also a key component to the chaotic main event at WrestleMania 41, which culminated in Cena breaking Ric Flair’s longstanding record for the company’s most world championship reigns.
Yet despite The Rock claiming that the “Sicko Mode” rapper was training to be a pro wrestler, it doesn’t appear that he’ll be involved in any storylines — let alone matches — anytime soon. According to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter‘s Dave Meltzer, Scott and WWE have had a “full falling out,” with the pro wrestling giant no longer planning to include him as a downloadable character in its WWE 2K25 video game, as originally planned.
“Scott and WWE had a full falling out, the nature of which hasn’t gotten out yet, but it’s why it’s open season to knock him,” Meltzer wrote of the move.
It’s not necessarily surprising to learn that WWE and Scott are no longer working together. But the news remains a black eye for WWE — much like the one Scott gave Cody Rhodes at the Elimination Chamber show — nonetheless.
Despite being involved in two of its biggest angles of the year, the Houston native hasn’t appeared on WWE programming since WrestleMania 41 in April. And now it appears there won’t be a payoff to his involvement in the Cena heel turn, which has largely fizzled since receiving mainstream attention when it first occurred in March.
Factor in that Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson also hasn’t appeared on WWE airwaves since the Cena heel turn first happened, and it’s fair to assume that this storyline hasn’t gone according to plan. Then again, this is pro wrestling, and the card is always subject to change. And while that may currently mean a falling out with Scott, he’d hardly be the first high-profile figure the company has mended fences with in its history.
