The move to two nights will not be the only change to WWE SummerSlam in 2025. It will also be available for viewing in select movie theaters.
Katie Campione of Deadline reported that SummerSlam will “screen live in select Regal Cinemas across the U.S. on Saturday, August 2 and Sunday, August 3.”
WWE’s release also detailed the different ticketing options that fans attending the theater viewings will have.
“Fans can choose two ticket options to experience the cinematic SummerSlam spectacle on the big screen. Options include a single-night ticket for either Saturday, August 2, or Sunday, August 3; or a two-night ticket bundle that includes access to both screenings and an exclusive SummerSlam t-shirt, available in partnership with Fanatics,” the release said.
WWE and @Fandango announced today that the first-ever two-night #SummerSlam taking place at MetLife Stadium in New Jersey will screen live in select Regal Cinemas across the U.S. on Saturday, Aug. 2 and Sunday, Aug. 3! Future WWE Premium Live Events (FKA, Pay-Per Views) will also have the theater option.
“The experience marks the launch of a multi-event collaboration between WWE and Fandango,” Campione said. “While Regal will be the official exhibitor for SummerSlam, additional exhibitors are expected to join for future WWE live events.”
The 2025 event will be John Cena’s final SummerSlam match. Cena, who is retiring from in-ring competition at the end of the year, will defend the Undisputed WWE Championship against Cody Rhodes in a rematch of WrestleMania 41’s Night 2 main event.
