WWE will dip their toes into the pop culture waters once again at one of their biggest shows of the year. Music star Jelly Roll will team with Randy Orton to face Logan Paul and Drew McIntyre in a tag-team match at SummerSlam.
And the feud kicked up a couple notches on Wednesday night’s episode of Jimmy Kimmel Live.
Jelly Roll served as guest host for Kimmel and interviewed Orton. Suddenly, McIntyre interfered to interrupt the segment. When the two brawled off stage, that’s when Logan Paul appeared. After a brief confrontation, Jelly Roll chokeslammed Logan Paul through Kimmel’s desk and then seamlessly transitioned the show to a commercial break.

WWE has had some hits and misses in recent years when they have gone to the celebrity well. Logan Paul has been incredible in the ring as he’s transitioned to being a legitimate WWE superstar. Bad Bunny has also shined in his appearances and even Pat McAfee has shown he’s more than capable competing in the squared circle.
However, wrestling fans have a sour taste in their mouths from WrestleMania 41 when a Travis Scott run-in killed the main event title match between John Cena and Cody Rhodes with. Scott’s presence in the match and central role in the feud left much to be desired.
So there is some trepidation around Jelly Roll heading into SummerSlam and whether or not it’ll fall into the surprise hit or minus five stars category. But furthering the feud on late night television in the mainstream is exactly why WWE is doing this in the first place. Reports are indicating that the music star has been training full time and taking it very seriously. And if his first impression is any indication, at least that chokeslam through the table looked pretty good! The Undertaker would be proud.
