Another WNBA game was briefly delayed due to a dildo being thrown onto the court.
In the final seconds of the Atlanta Dream’s 86-65 win over the Chicago Sky, a dildo flew onto the court as Chicago’s Rachel Banham was dribbling the ball up the court. Fortunately, the dildo landed behind Banham and the rest of the players on the floor. Still, the game was momentarily halted, drawing boos from the crowd at Wintrust Arena.
The trend of dildos thrown onto WNBA courts continued during Thursday night’s Dream-Sky game.

Colin Salao shared on X (formerly Twitter) that a pair of people were apprehended but eventually released, with no proof that they were the ones who threw the dildos onto the floor.
“After two dildos were thrown at the Chicago Sky game, two people were surrounded by security by the doors at Wintrust Arena,” Salao said. They were questioned about the incident. They appeared to be in good spirits, even taking selfies at one point while apprehended. They walked out of the arena moments later. I was told they were ‘free to go’ because there was no proof that they threw the objects.”

This has become an increasingly common occurrence at WNBA games.
Following Thursday’s practice, Minnesota Lynx coach Cheryl Reeve expressed her frustration, saying, among other things, “It’s not funny.”
“And it should not be the butt of jokes on any radio show or in print or in any comments,” she said. “The sexualization of women is what’s used to hold women down, and this is not different. This is just its latest form, and we should write about it in that way. These people that are doing it should be held accountable. We’re not the butt of the joke. They’re the problem, and we need to take action.”
