During Saturday’s game between the Chicago Sky and Indiana Fever, Sky guard Chennedy Carter was called for a foul when she threw a hard shoulder at Fever guard, Caitlin Clark, knocking Clark to the floor.
After the game, Carter refused to answer any questions about the incident.
On Sunday, the Sky were fined $5,000 for violating WNBA media policies, due to Carter’s non-answer and Sky forward Angel Reese’s failure to talk to the media after the game.
While Carter was unwilling to talk about Clark after the game, she had no problem discussing the 2024 first-overall pick on Threads.

The Athletic’s Nicole Auerbach shared a screenshot from Threads where Carter replied to an account discussing her postgame interview by saying, “That’s that on that because besides three-point shooing what does [Clark] bring to the table man?”
Clark is currently fourth in the WNBA in assists per game with 6.5, in addition to leading the Fever in scoring with 16.9 points per game.
Carter’s response coming on Threads, of all places, is the latest bizarre twist in this story, which has been a hot topic of discussion since te foul initially occurred.
SportsCenter didn’t initially cover the foul or postgame incident on Saturday night but added the highlight in later broadcasts.
The Sky and Fever play each other again June 16, in what should be a very interesting environment.
