Chicago Sky star Angel Reese was quite upset with the WNBA’s officiating on Sunday night.

The second-year forward ripped into the referees during a postgame press conference following the Sky’s close loss to the Minnesota Lynx, calling out a free-throw discrepancy that saw her team only have two attempts from the stripe into the fourth quarter.

“Yeah, I think we fought really hard,” Reese said. “It’s tough when you talk to officials, and I ask them, ‘Hey, we only shot two free throws. We’ve only been to the free-throw line twice up until the fourth quarter,’ and she tells me it’s not her job. So I know it’s frustrating because I know how hard we’re battling inside, and I think that we came down and fought as hard as we could with what we had.

“And I just know we continue to grow in this. And I think this is a leaping step for us. And obviously we know we can compete with the best, but that has to be fixed, and I don’t give a damn if I get fined, because that sh*t cheap, and I am tired of this sh*t, because I’ve been nice, and I’ve been humble with it. But I am tired of this sh*t.”

Reese would later take to social media and reply to a fan’s picture of her seemingly getting fouled with a one word response: “diabolical.”

Officiating has been a point of contention in the WNBA for years, and Reese would be far from the first player to complain about it. She’s also quite familiar with the league’s fine structure. Last season, the Sky star was fined $1,000 by the league for skipping her media availability.

For someone of Reese’s stature, that type of fine likely does qualify as “cheap.” Luckily, if the league does issue another fine, she got her money’s worth during Sunday night’s press conference.
