In the wake of a police officer in Brooklyn Center, Minnesota fatally shooting unarmed 20-year-old Black man Daunte Wright during a traffic stop Sunday, there have been plenty of protests throughout the Minneapolis-St. Paul area. On Monday, following the release of bodycam footage from the officer involved and the state and local government decisions to impose a 7 p.m. curfew in the Twin Cities metro area, the scheduled MLB, NBA and NHL games in the area were postponed. That started with MLB’s Twins, who made that decision ahead of the curfew announcement, and only shortly before their scheduled 2:10 p.m. Eastern first pitch. They put out this announcement (also seen at top) after that:

The NBA put out a statement announcing the postponement of the Nets-Timberwolves game:
NBA announces that tonight’s Nets-Timberwolves game has been postponed ‘in light of the tragic events in the Minneapolis area yesterday.’

And the NHL put out a statement announcing the postponement of the Blues-Wild game:

Only the NHL game so far comes with a specified rescheduled date. We’ll see when the NBA and MLB ones are rescheduled to, and if there are any further changes later this week. The Twins are also set to host the Red Sox Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday before going on the road to face the Los Angeles Angels Friday, while the Timberwolves are set to host the Milwaukee Bucks Wednesday.
